10th Anniversary Gala Dinner – Celebrating with Those We Served
Shared Services for Charities (SSC), celebrated our 10th anniversary on 31 October 2019 with a Gala Dinner at the Conrad Centennial Singapore. President Halimah Yacob was our Guest-of-Honour at this commemorative event, where we honoured and thanked those, we had the privilege of serving and collaborating with over this past decade.
In her speech, Madam President reminded us all, of “the role the Government plays in promoting transparency and governance in the charity sector” and how “charities can enhance their governance capabilities through learning sessions on best practices.” She closed her speech by congratulating all charities for their efforts in furthering their cause, as well as improving the governance standards within their organisations. Madam President, before returning to her seat, was invited to stamp her seal on a calligraphy piece of the Chinese character, He 和 she earlier wrote.
As part of the evening’s highlights, was a four-course western dinner, infused within an entertaining programme. Mementos were presented to the audit firms, whose staff had a hand in augmenting our in-house team’s efforts, each time we undertook an engagement. The firms included, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Helmi Talib, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte & Touche, RSM Chio Lim & BDO Singapore. Mementos were also presented to charities whom SSC has served for six years and more. They were, Kidney Dialysis Foundation, Singapore Red Cross, Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore, Beyond Social Services, Hindu Endowments Board, Children’s Aid Society & Caritas Community Council Singapore.
The Teng Ensemble entertained our guests with their unique brand of dialectical music. The nine-piece Ensemble, captivated our guests with their repertoire of three songs taken from their Heirlooms concert. “Informative & Entertaining”, “Interactive” & “Better Than Expected” were some of the feedback coming from our guests.
The evening closed with the Launch of the Next Decade. It symbolised the continuing journey SSC will be making by “Partnering Charities Over The Next Decade.”
